What’s AORI’s Dress code?

The dress code at our restaurants is smart casual. However, we love dressing up when the mood strikes.

What are AORI’s open hours?

Monday: Closed. Tuesday – Sunday: Open Lunch & Dinner. 

Is AORI suitable for large groups?

Yes. With banquet menus, private dining spaces, and a flexible floor plan, AORI is designed for everything from date nights to big celebrations.

Is AORI suitable for kids?

While we welcome guests of all kinds, AORI is designed with an adult-focused experience in mind. Children are welcome to dine with their parents or guardians, and we’re happy to offer mini rolls and high chairs for their comfort.

However, we’re unable to accommodate group bookings for guests under 18.

Where is AORI located?

AORI is located on 39 Lime Street, King Street Wharf, Sydney.

Can I bring a cake?

Yes, we accept cakes from external companies, but we will have to be notified prior. Up to 15 guests we charge a $5.5 cake fee per person. More than 15 guests we charge a $80 flat fee.

How do I get to AORI?

AORI is at 39 Lime Street on King Street Wharf, on the Darling Harbour waterfront. We are a short walk from Barangaroo and Wynyard Station, with paid parking options close by on King Street Wharf.

What type of food does AORI serve?

AORI is serving up Modern Japanese Dining through a considered menu of Japanese crowd-pleasers. Expect dry-aged steaks charred over a custom woodfired grill, sushi and sashimi platters made to share, and a considered cocktail list inspired by Japanese flavours.

Does AORI offer banquet menus for groups?

Yes. For groups of eight or more, we exclusively offer a selection of banquet menus that showcase every corner of our menu. They’re designed to keep service flowing – and save you from making all the decisions.

Can AORI cater to dietary requirements?

While we try our best to accommodate all dietary requirements, we cannot guarantee dishes are free from traces of allergens. Please let us know your requirements when booking so we can do our best to accommodate.

What should I do if I have a severe and dangerous allergy?

We cannot guarantee 100% against cross-contamination in the kitchen. So if your allergy is very dangerous, we recommend not taking the risk. All guests with an allergy are reminded to bring their epi-pen as an additional precaution and please advise us at the time of booking.

Do you have vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options?

Yes. Our menu includes a range of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes.

Is your restaurant Halal certified?

We are fully Halal certified and we do not serve pork in our kitchen. Please note, however, that some of our dishes are prepared with alcohol, which fully evaporates during the cooking process that can be altered upon request.

TAKEAWAY OF LEFTOVER DISHES

We understand that you may not always finish your meal. We are happy to provide takeaway containers for cooked dishes. For food safety reasons, raw dishes cannot be taken away. Please note that once food leaves the restaurant, Aori Restaurant cannot accept responsibility for its quality, safety, storage, or consumption.

Does AORI offer private dining?

Yes. AORI offers private dining spaces for intimate celebrations, client lunches, and group dinners.

How do I book a private dining room at AORI?

Simply reach out through our Private Dining enquiry form or call our team directly. We’ll work with you to tailor the experience — from curated menus to dedicated service.

What kind of events can I host at AORI?

Our private dining spaces are ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate lunches, client dinners, or any occasion that deserves a more personal touch.

Do I need to book a table at AORI?

We recommend booking in advance, especially for evenings and weekends, to secure your preferred time. Walk-ins are always welcome, and we keep a few tables aside for spontaneous visits.

How do I make a reservation at AORI?

You can book online through our reservations page or by calling the restaurant directly.

Does AORI accept walk-ins?

Yes — while bookings are encouraged, we always leave space for walk-ins so you can join us on the spur of the moment.

Can I make an A La Carte reservation for more than 8 guests?

We take reservations for any size all week (Tue–Sun, lunch & dinner), but we do require a banquet menu for a group of 8+ guests. We are more flexible during week days, but it will have to be communicated with our reservations team.

Can I request a specific table?

We are unable to guarantee specific tables, however we can make a special request and our team will do their best to accommodate on the day.

What do I do if I am running late for my reservation?

It is important to let us know if you are running late, as your table may be booked for another reservation after your seating. Please call us to advise delay; otherwise we will hold the table for a period of 20 minutes.

How do I cancel a reservation?

If you would like to change or cancel your reservation, please contact us on (02) 8004 2155. Please be aware that groups up to 7 guests can cancel up to 24hrs, groups 8+ guests can cancel up to 5 days prior.
